So here's my story, I used RegisterFly for about a year without any problems. Recently I tried to transfer my account to 1and1.com, a few days before expiration (I had other domains hosted there). It was pretty easy to get my account unlocked, but took me a while to find out how to transfer it, eventually I figured it out, but I had to wait up to 48 hours for the transfer.

48 Hours later I called up 1and1.com because my WHOIS information wasn't updated. So I called 1and1.com and asked them if everything transferred correctly. It's a good thing I called because apparently there was information miss match and RegisterFly did not release the domain. He double checked all the information I submitted and confirmed it nothing looked out of place. He recommended that I renew the domain with RegisterFly as soon as possible to avoid losing it (then transfer it later).

I did as he recommended and renewed my domain right away, on the day of expiration. I renewed it and paid for the domain through Paypal [Screenshot]and went to sleep feeling secure about my website.

Next morning I woke up to what I thought was a defaced website [Screenshot], I couldn't believe that those were supposed to be legitimate ads, I checked the whois and my dns had changed although it is still under my name. I immediately logged into RegisterFly and check the account [Screenshot]. My domain was EXPIRED! [Screenshot] I immediately tried getting a hold of them, which presented quite a bit of an issue.

I first tried the LiveChat from their front page.
[Screenshot] , I couldn't enter my information I checked my email and received an error that my email bounced back? [Screenshot] The LiveChat seems to be down all the time. I didn't bother using their Trouble-Ticket since it uses the same program as the LiveChat. I decided to try and call them, I got on Skype and called them, I waited, and waited, and waited (check the screen shot) [Screenshot].

After about hour and a half I had to go so I ended the call. Frustrated and upset I resolved to wait until the Tuesday after New Years, because there is no way I will be able to solve my problem with them letting my domain expire when I have a hangover.

So now I'm waiting to get my domain back. My website was http://www.pcr3.net/. I wouldn't be so frustrated or upset if their policy didn't specifically protect against this.

RegisterFly TOS:
"Forget to renew? RegisterFly.com allows a 30 day grace period after a name expires. During this 30 day grace period you can renew your domain. After the 30 day grace period expires your domain will move to the redemption period for 30 days prior to being dropped and made available again for registration. Once the domain is placed in redemption you CANNOT renew it via our interface."

*Overall : Do not get RegisterFly*
